Daily Guide

Starting in New Hanover today folks..

We’ll start in Valentine for the challenges today. We can get the Indian Tobacco then hunt some geese. Let’s get into it…

Indian Tobacco

Start in Valentine. If you look at the word Valentine on the map. The first letter ‘E’ in the word has two patches of indian tobacco on it. If you go south of that letter there are two more patches. You will certainly get all five plants from here.

Geese

Cut across to Caliban’s seat then drop down to the Dakota River. Follow the river down to Bard’s Crossing and keep an eye out for Geese. If you manage to find some on the way to Bard’s Crossing, great! If not then when you get to the bridge look on the water. There is usually a flock or two of geese there. Soot the water to spook them and then shoot the geese as they fly over land. That’ll stop them sinking in the deeper water.Skin them once you shoot them.

Dogs and Cooking

Head up to the cliff on the east of the river. There is a dog spawn point on the road that leads up to Flatneck Station. If you are lucky it’ll spawn in for you. Gus has a camp on the other side of the bridge. He has a campfire you can use to cook the game meat we got from the geese. There is another dogg spawn point near Fort Riggs so if you didn’t manage to get the other one, maybe you will get lucky here.

Lake Sturgeon

Flat Iron Lake to the south of Blackwater is a good spot to fish for Lake Sturgeon. My favourite spot is the bay you get to by following the white fence round past the last house as you head south out of town. Worms and Lures are best to target them.

Finishing off

Rope lone travellers off their horses then tackle them to the ground. Check the post office or your lock box for a treasure map and complete it. That’ll do it for today…

Good Luck out there!

Quick Guides

3 COOKED SEASONED GAME – Game is easiest found from Rabbits. They are everywhere, find, kill and skin a couple then head over to a campfire, season up that game and cook it.

1 FOLLOW DOG TO SOMETHING INTERESTING – There are dogs that bark at you and appear as a white dot on the map. You Follow one to a lockbox/body/ambush. Use https://jeanropke.github.io/RDOMap/ and filter to find the spawn points

2 GEESE SKINNED – Geese can be found flying overhead in New Hanover and Lemoyne. Try near Bards Crossing or Heartland Overflow. Dusk and Dawn seem to be good times for them to be flying over head.

5 INDIAN TOBACCO PICKED – My go to place for Indian Tobacco is to the South and West of valentine.

1 LAKE STURGEON CAUGHT – Hands down the best place to catch these is Flat Iron Lake, particularly the bit South East of blackwater. Worms work well. So do lake lures and the special spinner.

3 NON-PLAYER ENEMIES GRAPPLED TO THE GROUND – Antagonise a local and make them turn red on the mini map then grapple them to the ground. Dirty tactics, but simple and gets the job done.

1 TREASURE MAPS OR TREASURES FOUND – Treasure Maps can be found at variouse locations around the map, usually pinned to a tree. Find a map or if you already have one, use it and follow it to the treasure.
