Starting in West Elizabeth today folks..
We’ll start at Manzanita Post for the challenges today. We can visit Gus, hunt rats and toads then get the English Mace. Let’s get into it…
Gus and Hunting
Manzanita Post is the Fast Travel post we will start from today. Gus has a camp near the Lower Montana River. There is plenty to hunt in the forest and get five things to sell to him. Specifically, today we need rats and Toads. You can check the shack up near Aurora Basin for rats. Sell the items to Gus at his camp. Whilst you are here use the campfire to craft a horse care item. Next, head down to Thieves Landing. There are more rats on the docks there if you still need to get some. Once you have the rats, head to Stillwater Creek where you can find Toads.
English Mace
There is a patch of English Mace on the left hand side, just before you cross the bridge that is to the west of Stillwater Creek. There is another patch just next to the ‘L’ of the word Landing on the map. There is another patch just below the ‘A’. That should be enough places to get five plants picked.
Alligators
Fast Travel to Lagras. There are plenty of Alligators around here. There are also more toads in Bluewater Marsh so if you struggled to find them at Stillwater Creek, try here. The mud near Copperhead Landing is a particularly good spot to find them.
Finishing off
Check your map and look for a stranger mission icon at the train stations. Hover over it and check it’s a Clerk and not The Boy for example. Ride over to them, accept and complete the mission. That’ll do it for today…

1 ALLIGATORS KILLED – Alligators are common in Lemoyne. The waterways and swamps of Bayou NWA and Bluwater Marsh are great locations to check.
1 CRAFTED A HORSE CARE ITEM – Potent Horse Stimulant and Potent Horse Medicine can be crafted at a campfire, along with any other recipes you have unlocked. Bulrush and either Sage or Ginseng are needed for these so collect them before heading to a fire.
5 ENGLISH MACE PICKED – English Mace grows near the banks of the San Luis River. You can pick it up from Thieves Landing down through New Austin. Above ‘Plainview’ on the map is a good spot.
5 ITEMS SOLD TO GUS – Go to Gus at one of his camps across the map and sell him any items. Pelts, feathers and other animal parts all count towards this. Harriet is gonna be mad at you!
3 RATS COLLECTED – The cave behind the waterfall at Elysian Pool is my go to place for rats. It’s up near Annesburg.
1 TRAIN CLERK MISSIONS COMPLETED – The Train Clerk is one of the strangers who issue free roam missions. He can be found at major railway stations. Simply visit him, accept and complete the mission he gives you.
2 WESTERN TOADS COLLECTED – Western toads can be found on the banks of lakes, rivers and in the wetlands of Lemoyne. Bluewater Marsh is a great spot for them
